Fire Force Season 3 Episode 15 Review: 'Birth' - The Shocking Truth of Shinra and Sho's Origins
Fire Force Season 3 Episode 15 (Episode 63 Overall) Review: "Birth"
Aired January 24, 2026. Following Benimaru vs Hibachi's soul-shaking clash, this episode reveals both the "transformation of the world" that battle brought about and truths we'd rather look away from.
Overall Impressions: The Eerily Smiling Moon and a Pure "Angel's" Search
The most shocking moment in this episode was the transformation of the moon in the night sky. As a result of Benimaru's battle shortening the distance to Adolla, the moon changed to show an eerie smile reminiscent of Atsushi Ohkubo's previous work "Soul Eater"... Fans must have gotten chills thinking "It's finally come to this."
The story's tone is very heavy, and the "truth of the Great Cataclysm" revealed by Licht was devastating. However, Sho and Arrow's "family search journey" depicted amid this bleak atmosphere served as both a refreshing break and a heartbreakingly poignant salvation.
The staff's direction was brilliant, creating a compelling structure where the tension of Licht's exposition segments contrasted with Sho's childlike innocence.
Episode 15 Summary
The story has two main threads: Licht's "investigation of the world's truth" and Sho's "search for his roots."
- Licht's hypothesis that "Adolla = the collective of humanity's images"
- The "Great Cataclysm" the Evangelist faction seeks is to merge the world with images (death)
- The cruel irony that people's "fear of death" and "prayers" themselves are summoning destruction
This harsh truth leaves us wondering "how can we possibly fight this?"
Meanwhile, Sho takes Arrow to visit Shinjuku ward office and hospitals. He wants to know what kind of person his mother was and what family meant, before the world ends.
- Sho's beauty being praised as "like an angel" by women in town (Arrow's overprotectiveness is also endearing!)
- The name "Mari" written as his mother's name in the family register
- And the inexplicable record of "virgin birth" with no father listed
Why do the brothers Shinra and Sho possess "Adolla Burst" and why are they such special existences? The suggestion that the root lies in their "non-human birth" suddenly imbues the story with mythological mysticism. Watching what Sho thinks as he learns his roots, every expression was heartbreaking.
